DIY Rainbow Bath Salts

I am so excited to share the results of my DIY bath salt project! It turned out way better than I anticipated, and it took me less than an hour to whip up enough for four mason jars! This is a great homemade gift for Christmas, Mother’s Day, or Brithdays and it would be super cute for Easter too! {Check out more Last Second DIY Christmas Gifts HERE}

Here’s how to make your own fantastic rainbow bath salts:

DIY Rainbow Bath Salts

Materials:

  • 2 Mason Jars (I used beautiful blue ones, but the rainbow shows better with clear jars)
  • 1 2LB box of Epsom Salt
  • 2 Teaspoons Jojoba oil
  • 10 drops of Jasmine Essential Oil
  • Food Coloring

Step 1: In a large bowl stir together 1 box of Epsom Salt, 2 Teaspoons of Jojoba oil, and 10 drops of Jasmine Essential Oil. Use a fork so you can easily break all the clumps.

Step 2: Separate the epsom salt into 4 equal portions.

Step 3: Dye each bowl of epsom salt with 1 to 2 drops of food coloring.

Step 4: Pour the salt into the jars, alternating colors to give the rainbow look. Level off the top of each layer before you add the next color so the stripes are even. Make sure you fill the jar all the way to the top so the salt doesn’t shift out of place when you move the jar.

It’s that simple! Add some twine and handmade tags and you have yourself a lovely homemade gift (and keep some for yourself, jasmine oil is divine)!
